In addition to keeping track of and sharing our new projects, one reason we started this blog was to motivate ourselves into GETTING STUFF DONE on some past projects! We have a pretty bad habit of stopping work just when we are almost finished – hence the name of the blog :). We figured if we set some goals for ourselves to have actually completed projects to share with you all, we might just finish some of them. It seems to have worked. Yeah! (at least so far)
Here’s a roundup of what we got done recently.
- This has been the view from the guest suite in our garage for the past few, OK several, months. Half painted french doors and blinds laying in open boxes on the floor shamed us every time we walked through there.
Here’s how it looks now. Yeah!
2. In an equally unpainted state was the closet in the guest suite. Not only was it not painted, there were no base boards or anything that would make it recognizable as a closet, like a hanging rod or shelves.
This one took a trip to the Home Depot, We ran out of paint, didn’t have enough baseboard, and didn’t have a rod or anything to hang it with. Pretty much, we were missing everything we needed. We like to be prepared. 🙂 A trip to Home Depot in the middle of a project is a motivation killer as far as I’m concerned. Anyone else? Thankfully, someone still had some mojo and got to work.
3. Finally, the outlets in this room have been a sore spot for quite a while. Bouncy. Surrounded by holes that are too big to be covered up by plates. Just the kind of problems that are a real pain to fix. We have been chipping away at them for a while, and now they are finally finished. Even the internet cable got hooked up and completed. Yahoo!!
No telling when we will be this motivated again, but it feels pretty good for the time being.
